Our faith calls us to follow Jesus Christ’s example and serve others as He did during his ministry on Earth. Throughout the program year, youth (and their families) will be called upon to complete service to others through involvement in various opportunities offered by the parishes. The amount and caliber of projects we can offer is dependent largely on parent involvement and availability of consistent volunteers. While registering your child for our faith formation program, please prayerfully consider joining one of our existing or desired service opportunities in a leadership capacity, to ensure we can offer new, exciting, and impactful opportunities for our parish families.
We offer service opportunities in two distinct catergories: those which serve the parishes, and those which serve the greater community.
Current Service to Parish Opportunities (Grades 3 & Up)
Altar Servers and Youth Lectors are both great opportunities for our parish youth to become active members in our church communities. To learn more about these opportunities, please click the links above or use the links in the sidebar menu at right.
Desired Service to Parish opportunities in need of additional adult leadership: Parish outreach projects (i.e. The Grandfriends Project, seasonal or regularly scheduled outreach to parish Veterans, First Responder Care Kits, etc.)
Current Service to Community Opportunities (Grades 6 & up)
Our Teen Baking Ministry and Blessing Bags for the Homebound program are great ways for our older youth in grades 6 & up to participate in the life of our parishes and our local and greater communities. Please use the links above or at right (in the sidebar menu) to discover more about these amazing opportunities.
Desired Service to Community opportunities in need of additional adult leadership: partnerships with My Brother’s Keeper in Easton and New Life Furniture Bank in Walpole; Project Give Warmth to benefit the Pine Street Inn in Boston, and the Birthday in a Box (fundraiser and event) to benefit homeless children who reside in shelters throughout Massachusetts.
Current Service to Parish Opportunities (Grades 11 & 12)
Faith Formation Program Classroom Assistants and Chaperones for The Rock Youth Ministry Center are two great ways for older teens to live out their call to discipleship in direct service to our parishes. Click the links above to view more information about each of these opportunities.
Service Opportunities for Adults (Age 18+)
In order to provide a more vibrant and productive service program, we are in need of additional adult volunteers to help coordinate and execute projects. If you are 18+, have completed Virtus: Protecting God's Children (or are willing to), and have a desire to lead youth in their call to discipleship, please contact the Confirmation Team.
