Youth Lectors proclaim the Welcome, First and Second Readings, Prayers of the Faithful, and any end-of-Mass Announcements during our 930am Mass at Blessed Sacrament each Sunday morning (October through June) and at other liturgical celebrations throughout the year. Lectoring is another great opportunity for our youth to become active participants in the Mass and to develop life skills such as self-confidence, public speaking, teamwork, punctuality and more.
At Blessed Sacrament Parish, youth in grades 3 & up, who have received First Eucharist, are eligible to join us at the 930am Family Mass celebrated each Sunday morning (October through June).
At Saint Mary Parish, youth who have been Confirmed are eligible to join the lector program, and may sign up to lector during their preferred Mass timeslot (Saturday 4pm, Sunday 730am, Sunday 9am, or Sunday 1130am).
Training is provided for all new lectors.
